This has been the perfect solution for my elderly mother. I have two…one at the top of the stairlift and one in the bathroom. This gives more stability than a wall safety bar without any damage to the ceiling or floor. We used the tension mount method and the bar is very secure. One is on carpet and one is on tile. The pole can also be screwed into the floor and ceiling.

We’ve primarily used this pole to provide a grab bar in front of the toilet so the elderly can align themselves between the loop-style grab bar and the toilet for a confident seating experience. The elderly appreciated this approach. For us, it reduces the number of backward steps they take and reduces dependence on other grab bars behind the person with limited mobility. Of course, the grab bar rotates out of the way for those who have cleaning or construction duties.

I am using it the shower with a flat floor and an 8 ft ceiling. I have become unsteady on my feet and have a fear of falling and have found that this product works very well. One of the problems encountered was the the instructions included dimensions in millimeters while had a tape measure in feet, inches and fractions. This was solved with a calculator for the conversions. The instructions were not really great.

A back saver for a caregiver. Purchased for elderly mother to assist with getting her out of bed. Not only is it helpful for pulling herself up with, but she can also use it to adjust her position in bed.
Tested it with a 240lb person and it is very sturdy and secure.
It is really easy to install. We did find that our ceiling is not entirely level in all spots, but it is easy enough to move around to ensure it is in a level spot.
Will likely install one by the bathtub as well.
