I originally got this feeder to spot some birds and mostly keep my kids entertained with all the wildlife we were attracting. I was surprised by how many birds came to this within the first day of putting it out. I didn’t even use any special seed; just an economy bag from the local big box. Although this attracted plenty of squirrels as well, which are a bit rough and chase away the birds. The build is solid enough that it’s stood up to most of the winter thus far without a hiccup. I have the triple solar panel model, which has had no issues keeping the unit charged, even with shade from surrounding trees some of the day. I decided to mount it to a fence post, which wasn’t a big deal and found the mounting hardware to be more than adequate for the task. The only extra work involved was routing the extra solar panel somewhere it could catch the evening light while the two ‘roof’ panels soaked up the morning sun. The included app was easy to find on the Play store and install. Configuration wasn’t overly complicated, but does take some familiarity with tech. Once I got it on my network, the SD quality video was fine for seeing the local birds up close and enjoy their songs. Also, bluejay as kind of jerks. Adding seed is find from the back, but I wish the lid would rotate backwards and act like a backboard when I pour the seed instead of forward over the camera. This makes it so I need to reach around the feeder and into my neighbor’s yard. A small gripe, but no biggie. Lovely feeder otherwise.

Bought for the wife. She loves it. Sturdy construction. The only note I have would be, when setting it up, just go ahead and stand next to your router. It now sits over 100’ from any router and works fine. But it had to be close on that first connection.

I put this up on a Monday. Took until Thursday for this blue jay to find it. It comes with a lot of little attachments to offer treats to different types of birds. I have a raspberry on the fruit holder. I haven’t put the suet holder on it yet and it’s been too cold for humminbirds, but there’s a humming bird feeder that comes with it too.
It does a great job of identifying birds (so far, just this one) AND humans. Since the camera points at my back door, it’s nice to have that feature. I have the app set to alert me when it captures images.
The solar is working well keeping the camera charged.
I did pay for the app to store my videos on the cloud. It was about $50 for the year.
I have the expensive ones from Kickstarter, but this price is GREAT and the resolution is good enough to enjoy.
