It can distill a total of 8.24 gal/31.2 L per day, and in order not to affect your taste, we kindly recommend that you change the filter carbon pack once a week.

This works great. My husband uses a CPAP and we now use a little humidifier in the bedroom at night so we bought this. It doesn’t make a full gallon and at the beginning, he fills the unit up to the fill line from the faucet. After the water starts to come out, 2 hours later, he puts another 4-6 cups in it. He turns it off, lets it sit for 5-10 mins., then adds another 4-6 cups in it. Then let it go until the gallon jug is filled up. That way it doesn’t dry out and scorch the bottom. If you follow the instructions that came with it, you will end up with a scorched bottom.

(If my math is correct.) Anyway, it is pretty simple to use and works well. I probably don’t need to keep cleaning the main tank but I can’t help myself.

2) If you distill the whole tank, you can get baked on sediment that requires some citric acid, water, and a bit of elbow grease to get off the bottom of the distiller.

I got this as a backup in case my first one goes bad. I ended up printing myself an new gasket and saving the first one, so this is standby. We save a lot of work not buying distilled water down in town and carrying it up. We use about 6-7 gallons a week. We have hard water, and use this for cat water fountain, coffee, CPap and other stuff. No problems.
