It is one heavy duty machine and serious about drilling.

It performed exactly as I needed.
Especially needed manual magnets for safety and 2 of them for curved surfaces.

I made a farm entrance archway to hang two hefty metal gates. I bought several Ace Hardware and Home Depot bits. Starting small and graduating in size up to the needed 1″ hole size, four stout 3/4″ threaded hinge bolts supported each gate. I needed to drill eight holes in a 6″ pipe with a 1/2″ wall thickness. I set the two 16-foot-long posts in concrete and welded the top arch into place. After attempting to drill the gate holes, I gave up after ruining a couple of bits, and I was physically exhausted trying to apply the right amount of needed pressure at the required heights. I got online to price a basic magnetic drill. I came across the Vevor Magnetic Drill Press. Amazingly, it came with several boring bits. I ordered it. It came, and I set it up, hanging it on one of the posts. I was dumbfounded by how easy it was to set up, apply its magnetic base, and cut – not drill these eight holes. It took about an hour to do all eight holes. Lot’s life is still in the boring bit I used. The key is to use cutting oil and light, steady pressure; you can feel it cut. One reviewer was concerned about its accuracy. It was perfect for my needs. I’m 65 years old, and this magnetic drill press was straightforward for me to use. My only regret is why I waited so long to buy one. Over the years, the ruined bits and curse words would have purchased a couple of these magnetic drill presses.

Highly recommend purchasing if your planning on making holes in thick metals .

As a user of the big brand mag drills, I had a hard time justifying their cost for the project I was doing.
After the first 7/8” hole through 1/2” steel, I was impressed! I had to drill through 2 sections of plate and used the core drill for the first hole and switched to the drill chuck and drilled a pilot hole 1/4” & then went straight to a 7/8” drill bit. It handled it perfectly!!
I have recommended this to others!
