Building process tanks from 8″ sch 40 steel pipe. Each tank takes 5 fittings with o-lets. Drilling by hand or torching was less than satisfactory so I bought this Vevor magnetic drill. What a pleasure. It bores through the thick pipe wall with ease and leaves a clean hole. At first I was concerned that the magnetic base would be unstable on the curved surface of the pipe but it’s easy to hold steady. I wouldn’t recommend this without a pipe accessory on smaller diameters but on 8″ pipe, it worked fine. $166 with a set of bits, it’s an incredible value.

Very well packaged, arrived quickly, exactly as described. Tried it out immediately, and drilled a 7/8 inch hole through a 1/2 inch plate in about 45 seconds. Made a extremely clean straight hole. Very nice addition to any shop.

This thing is awesome for the price. The only drawback is that it doesn’t have variable speed. I guess I could always wire one in. I drilled some 3/4 inch holes in some 1 inch plate steel and the drill performed flawlessly. It is kind of loud. The electromagnet is crazy strong. I couldn’t get it to break free at all

The drill works well and has decent power. When I fist tried to use it, the rotation was reversed from the switch position. I called I sent an email to Vevor and they send me directions on how to correct the issue. Great customer service. The other issue was the coring bits were not the 50 mm as described. But, the bits that came with work great. Overall, I’m happy with it.
