I used the video to put it together. Can be done by one person in 45 minutes. I will note that a previous review said it didnt have brakes. That inaccurate. The last step in the video is installation of the brakes. Im so glad i watched the instructional video. The brakes are definitely a game changer. On the second use, he completely understood the concept and runs with encouragement. Since there is no motor and is 100% dog powered I feel very comfortable that he can rest when he wants and run when he wants. Im not forcing him to do anything. I just wish I would have invested in one years ago for my two older dogs when they were in their prime. We will get so much use out this dog tread.

This item was easy to put together as long as you follow the instructions. It doesn’t take too much space in the home. It helps my fur babies get their exercise. We got it to help one baby loose weight and another one to burn off energy. Definitely worth it to keep the babies busy. The design is perfect because you can put it on an incline. It is heavy but the wheels make it easy to move around the home. Functionality is good. How noise level depends on your fur baby lol.

Honestly, I’m impressed. Took about an hour to assemble, but we took our time. Pretty straightforward, but the instructions aren’t extremely thorough. If you’re at all handy or DIY oriented you will have zero issue assembling this.
It’s far from silent, but much quieter than expected. We ended up with a few extra bolts. If you ended up missing bolts, replacements wouldn’t be hard to find at an ACE Hardware or similar store. Our massive GSD fits on the XL. The noise is quiet enough that none of them are bothered, even the slightly noise sensitive ones. They like this much better than the electric treadmill. We’ve had it a few days and already half of the dogs are almost completely comfortable trotting on it, two have attempted a run. Our training plan so far has been start with the brakes on, then slowly release the brakes while feeding treats. Take things slow. Our Malinois, Lab, Hound, and GSD all love it!
Very very excited for this to help us keep our dogs fit and exercised in the heat of the summer. I am disabled and this is going to make exercise so much more accessible.
In terms of space, we have an area in our training room that’s about 12ftx5ft – that’s plenty for our dogs to mount and dismount safely, and have a good sized buffer on either side.
It was packaged very well and none of the parts arrived damaged, scratched, dinged, or bent in any way. They event sent 3 replacement slats. I can’t imagine the slats would be that hard to DIY replace.

My dog loves his daily run on this treadmill. My only complaint is that the incline does not hold. It’s too heavy and slides back down. I placed a two by four under the front legs for incline. Assembly is easy although instructions included are really bad. I suggest leaving the track on floor without the legs a few days so that your dog can walk on it and get used to it. When you put the legs on it he’ll be more inclined to jump up on it. Product is solid, relative quiet and a great value. I paid $539 for large. I see it’s gone up to $599 but still a decent price.

This is a very nice slat mill. I purchased it for my Malinois and she loves it. Assembly was not difficult. I did make 2 modifications, one was to make and install side panels to prevent dogs paws from going between the slats and the side rails. The other one was to install front restraint for the front of the dogs harness. These two modifications would improve this very nice slat mill.
