These bits are very sharp I drilled hundreds of holes thru 1/8″ steel with no problem and even drilled a few holes in 5/8″ steel I Beam . Only had one but snap on me drilling when the magnet didn’t seem to hold so good , so I had to clamp the drill down because I think the steel beam wasn’t wide enough to hold.so I had to order two bits that broke for replacement. Other than that issue , I love this mag drilll.As long as you don’t force it to fast it drills real good and use plenty of drilling lube.

These bits cut well and hold a sharp edge, I used them to cut holes for bolts in 3/16 steel making joiner plates for wood beams. I highly recommend.

Once you go Universal you will NEVER go back to that crappy Weldon shaft. The Weldon CANNOT be properly centered (the set screws offset the bit from the shank) and they are such a PAIN to change: find hex wrench, loosen screws, oops went too far, screw comes out, screw hunt, find screw, get cutter on shaft, tighten screws, can’t get good angle so flip wrench, over tightened, cutter wobbles, drill anyway, bad cut that is not clean and maybe oblong, rinse and repeat. Universal? Pull the collar, drop the prior cutter, insert new cutter, press to click, start cutting! Cuts perfectly circular. Just so easy. Will NEVER go back to Weldon. This set was great, covered imperial and at larger diameter than my metrics I got with my magdrill. Vevor, if you are listening, we still need a set of imperials in the 0-1” range (counterpart to the metric set that came with my drill). Anyhow, the one caveat is these are not carbide, so don’t ruin them on armor plating. But so far working great for me. BTW, there are people/companies you can find on line to sharpen these for a reasonable price so these can be a long term investment. Strongly recommend universal shank and these cutters.

Bought these for various reasons but in our shop we built a welding table with a half inch hot rolled steel top, and we used the 5/8 cutter on literally SIX HUNDRED holes – still VERY sharp. I never expected in a million years that cutter would last that long – but it did. You’d be crazy not to buy these!

These bits are sharp and hold up well. I haven’t used all of them, but made many holes with the one’s I did use. Great product.
