This lathe is surprisingly capable, and the few things “wrong” with it respond well to a little cleaning, adjusting, tightening, etc.
It’s not really powerful, and although it turns aluminum and plastic without complaint, steel is a lot of work and aggressive cutting is not going to happen. Also, I don’t make much use of the auto-feed; certainly not for thread-cutting, and only rarely for finish-quality feeding. The gears there are plastic, and I have not put them to the test in any way. Metal-gear kits are available, as are many other after-market mini-lathe accessories.

Overall good product, had one minor issue when the item arrived, the magnet for the RPM sensor was missing, I contacted customer support and they took care of the issue by sending me not one replacement magnet, but grisly sent me 5. I would recommend this induct.

Works well. However, a lot of components on the lathe are loose when you receive it, so it’s definitely necessary to go through and tighten everything up before use. The belt is of low quality. I would recommend finding a better belt or using the lathe to make V-groove pulleys, allowing you to run a V-groove belt. The product description lists the tail stock as MT3, but it is not an MT3. It is an MT2. I emailed customer service and told them they need to change the description.

If you have the ability to imagine it ,and the technical skills to do it, you can accomplish some really amazing stuff on this small compact lathe. It is powerful and accurate and very versatile.
