    The Planer itself is very heavy duty and seems to work well but the On/Off button Broke off the first time I turned it on. Very thin plastic on the clips and I was concerned when we put it on. You can still turn it on and off if you push upward but there is no button. The machine works well so far though, I have ran 3 small boards through it!

    This is my third planer in my life and I can honestly say, the best by far. The planer arrived quickly and was packaged securely, assuring it wasn’t damaged in shipping. Easy to take out of the box and get it operational quickly. Of the three I have owned, this one planes the widest boards, WITHOUT significant snipe (virtually none). I have planed down about a dozen boards from 1.75 down to about 1.25, flawlessly and with ease. The vacuum attachment worked perfectly with my 4 inch vacuum system and the rollers on top of the planer made it much easier to operate as a one-man shop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED planer…. seems very sturdy.

    I have never owned a thickness planer but I’ve used one at friends shops. Decided it was time for one of my own so I began watching prices in them. I’ve never heard of Vevor and really wouldn’t have considered the brand but when I realized that the 24 blade spiral cut model was the same price as their 3 blade model (just under $300) I decided to take a gamble. Despite the few flaws I think I’ll be happy with the purchase. I’m a hobbyist so I won’t be using this to plane hundreds of feet of wood a week. Pros: The planer is heavy enough to not move at all when in use (~60lb). It gives softwood a pretty smooth finish, depending on the project the surface could be good enough to not require sanding. I haven’t tested it on any hardwoods yet. It is easy to use and easy to set up. Dust collector seems to work well; I ran about 40ft of repurposed pine 1×8 through it and had maybe 1 cups worth of chips that didn’t make it into my dust collector. It is no louder than you’d expect and significantly quieter than a yellow 2 blade model I have used. Cost is less ($130-200) than other spiral-cut head planers and a fraction of the cost of a helical-head machine. Mostly metal. There are some plastic parts such as the switch housing and chip port but all of the structural and body parts are metal. Cons: This will seem like a lot, but it’s really not, I just want to describe my findings. First, the “manual” is next to worthless: poorly translated with low quality pictures, but this is a common complaint of Chinese manufacture items. All but useless! The outfeed table cannot be fully closed when the chip port is installed, even with the cutter platform fully raised, as in the photo. The infeed and outfeed tables cannot be made properly in line with the planer surface: the hinges, which don’t appear to be adjustable, are slightly too low. The feed tables can be adjusted but it only adjusts the angles of the tables, not their elevation, so that only the outside edges can be made level wi

    Was looking at used planers locally and found this one for a similar price as used, like the features of the 13” size Vs others at 12 or 12.5” and the two speed feed. I have been using to turn 2x12x12’ pine into dimensional lumber for a wall book shelf, has been working good, but a bit of sniping at the start. Would like to see a locking mechanism added, as some say this feature helps prevent sniping. And metal side panels instead of plastic as other brands have. Dust collector works well. So far satisfied with purchase.
