the thumb is heavy duty and easy to install but the pins are too small [1″ pins but holes are 1 1/4″ ] very slopy fit and the pins are 1/8″to short [ lock pins will not fit in holes in pins. had to buy 3 new 1 1/4″ pins at tractor supply. thumb works good on my jd backhoe.

Vevor 36″ excavator thumb exceeded my expectations. Welds appear to be very solid and overall very solid. Everything is square. Some slop in pins/holes but tight tolerances are not needed. I used this on my CASE 580 extendahoe. I welded the smaller 6″ mounting pad at the bottom of the inner tube of the dipper arm and the longer bracket to the outer tube. By doing this I can fold the thumb by extending or retracting the dipper arm. I remove it when not using the thumb.

Thumb construction itself is good but the pins suck. They bent easily upon initial use and need to be cut out before replacing. Also the pins are 7/8” and the length is hard to find so you will need to expand the holes in the thumbe and reciever plates to 1” in prder to replace them. I emailed Vevor about replacement pins but have not received a response. Very disappointing!

This thumb is no joke. Well made and extremely useful. However, no installation instructions at all! Even the photos on the website provides no clues as to its correct installation. Some of the photos even show the retaining bracket used to fold and store the thumb out of the way when not in use are not installed in the correct position!
