This rebar cutter is a work and back saver. It cuts #4 Grade 60 rebar with ease and little deformation. I tried cutting the rebar manually. I purchased a 42 inch HD bolt cutter from Harbor Freight, it was the biggest one they sell. With two men working the bolt cutter, it barely made a mark on the rebar. This rebar cutter quickly paid for itself eliminating trips to the Chiropractor and doctor. LOL! I’m cutting a lot of #4 rebar so I got the model a step up from the cutter rated for cutting #4 rebar. I recommend buying the rebar cutter at least one step up from the rating of the size of rebar you plan on cutting. I almost wish I purchased the biggest rebar cutter but this one is doing a fantastic job so far. Be advised that the operator manual is not written very well.

Used it to cut twenty 20’ rods down to 5’ and worked great very quickly yes I probably could have done it faster with bolt cutters but I didn’t have to work up a sweat or hurt my back doing it. Worth every penny have much more to do so we will see how it holds up

Using on a job with a lot of rebar to be cut. The saw used prior took twice as long and more man power. This cuts like butter. Great value for the price. Was easy enough for one person to use and the cord placement did not seem to cause issues with the functionality of this.

Cutting #4 rebar manually was doable but my structural engineer threw #5 into the mix this year. Cutting #5 manually takes every ounce of energy and really hurts both my knee and back. I just bought this cutter and OMG, this is incredible!!! I should have bought one of these years ago. It zips through #5 rebar in about 2 seconds. Do yourself a favor and by one of these. For just a little more than the cost of a manual cutter, you can totally avoid the aggravation of manual cutting. We’re building an off-the-grid ICF medieval castle (Keene Castle). If you screw up a wall measurement and you have to remove some of the ICF block, you may have some bar sticking out of the wall that is still wired in. In this case you can just take the electric cutter to the wall. Can’t do that with a manual cutter.

Compared the name brand unit ($1k+), I was hoping to make it a quarter way through my project. I’m now over 30,000 cuts on 3/8 rebar and still going strong. Running it basically nonstop for days. I should probably check oil, etc but it just keeps on kicking.
