We have steep slopes on our property. We placed these in a trench we dug on the slope and placed wooden stakes on either side. We then planted vinca vine to grow over the “sock”. It should eliminate concerns with possible erosion.

Mud and water just pass under the staked fabric, whereas these Pig Sediment Socks lay right on the ground and filter the muddy water from construction site runoff in a rainstorm. Mud settles out and builds up behind them, which further improves their filtering. In a huge downpour, some muddy water gets by, but nowhere near as much as with the traditional screen and stake method.
